GDB fails when running program

Bug Description
Whenever I attempt to run a program being debugged, I recieve an error stating:
Couldn't write registers: Input/output error.
I'm using GDB version 6.8, GCC version 4.3.2, and this is all happening on an Intrepid install.

The problem is with VirtualBox, not Ubuntu or GDB.
