Bug Description

Binary package hint: gconf

failed build found on http://qa.ubuntuwire.org/ftbfs/

The attached branch simply reverts debian/control.in to the previous version. Tested building with pbuilder and the package now builds.

Not 100% sure this is the right fix, but it didn't work before the change and it does now :)

Thank you for your bug report, that has been fixed since, https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gconf/2.31.91-0ubuntu2

Can I ask if there was a technical reason my branch was not accepted,

Thanks

there was nothing wrong with your work there, the uploaders just get direct email notifications about build issues and tend to read those before the bug emails, it's likely that the uploader fixed his mistake before noticing your bug...
