Bug Description
I discovered this issue with gcin when trying to search my e-mails in Evolution. Only English could be typed into the search field. Also, the key combination to switch to CangJie5 would not make the change from En to Cang5. I could make the change with the mouse, but even though the notifier icon changed on the top panel, only English could be typed in the filed within Evolution. I tried scim, and that didn't have any problems producing Chinese characters in the search field in Evolution's e-mail program.
I'm operating Xubuntu. (Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS)
gcin version: 2.7.3+dfsg-1
Evolution version: 3.2.3-0ubuntu6
