This message came up during upgrade from xubuntu gutsy, later changed to a gnome desktop. The ubuntu version was 7.10 and the upgrade is to the latest release of ubuntu which is the long term support version 8.04, I think.

bug 227780 also occurred at the same update

Problem also occurred with gcc-3.3-doc, and I solved it by completely removing all gcc-3.3-doc package and install it again. Same method didn't work for 3.4 package... Any hints?
