Bug Description

Binary package hint: gapcmon

This application provides a GUI to monitor APC UPS operation but its tray ion functionality seems broken since the notifications changes in Ubuntu.

When enabling such options only a thin vertical line appears in the notification area, and the application has to be started manually from the menus to be accessed.

Tray icon functionality also broken on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS, Kernel 2.6.32-28-generic 64 Bit with gapcmon version 0.8.9-2

The panel icons are now visible (big fixed in Natty, see Bug #477731). However this still doesn't use the newer notification system, now with the new Unity interface the icon visibility isn' t very useful unless you use classic desktop mode.
