Bug Description

Binary package hint: fvwm

I updated 10.04 to 10.10 and fvwm stopped working. It starts up fine (with either my local or system config) but as soon as I request a menu, it crashes and dumps me back to the login screen.

I tried purgeing it and reinstalling but the problem persists.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Does anyone have any idea? I am happy to provide more information if needed and of course, to test any patch.

If this really is doing as you claim -- that is, producing a menu then logs you out -- please check for a corefile (assuming the surrounding environment allows for it -- see "ulimit -c" beforehand) and get a backtrace.

I am not convinced it is crashing though.

There was no core file otherwise, I would have started gdb and included it here ;)

This can be closed. I reinstalled Ubuntu 10.10 and the problem went away.
