Bug Description

Using the exact same startup process as gnome-flashback, just replacing metacity with fvwm in a renamed copy of /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/gnome-flashback.session

fvwm loads right away, but the rest of the session (gnome-panel, etc) stalls for a full two and a half minutes until, in .xsession-errors:

gnome-session[2536]: WARNING: Application 'fvwm.desktop' failed to register before timeout
gnome-session[2536]: CRITICAL: We failed, but the fail whale is dead. Sorry....

then everything continues normally, but the delay is intolerable. Rooting about seems to indicate that the fvwm package may simply need a recompile against the latest libraries?
