Bug Description
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 13.04. Now fvwm2 crashes frequently (i.e., every few minutes) and drops me back to the login prompt, typically while I am working with Firefox.
I have captured fvwm2's standard error stream as follows:
[fvwm][
ISO8859-3, ISO8859-4, ISO8859-5, KOI8-R, ISO8859-7, ISO8859-9, ISO8859-13, ISO8859-14, JISX0208.1983-0, KSC5601.1987-0, GB2312.1980-0, JISX0201.1976-0
[fvwm][
Invalid byte sequence during conversion from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1
[xcb] Unknown sequence number while appending request
[xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not been called
[xcb] Aborting, sorry about that.
fvwm2: ../../src/
Aborted (core dumped)
fvwm2 terminated with exit code 134
I have not been able to find the core file that was allegedly dumped. Please let me know if there is other useful information I should post.
Thanks, -- Peter
This looks like the same issue as the one I just reported at https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ fvwm/+bug/ 1289535
I can attest that this happens even in my copy of compiled fvwm.
