Bug Description

Binary package hint: fusecompress

I am trying out Karmic in general and I really like it by the way.

I noticed fusecompress was in the repository, and I can't seem to use the lzma option:

$ fusecompress -o fc_c:lzma /home/aaron/.fusecompress/archive2/ /home/aaron/Archive2
Compressor lzma not found!

There's no suggested or recommended library to install, so if there's a library I need that I don't have I don't know what it is.

$ apt-cache policy fusecompress
fusecompress:
  Installed: 2.5-2
  Candidate: 2.5-2
  Version table:
 *** 2.5-2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Confirming, having the same problem here... Installing lzma, lzma-alone, and liblzma0 don't seem to change anything.

Another confimation. The package definitely lacks support for lzma. This is really an issue since lzma provides both high speed and the highest compression ratio.

Found some info on a Debian mailing list. Apparently there are some bugs (already fixed but unreleased) in the latest liblzma preventing build of fusercompress, so support has been disabled until the next liblzma release.
