Bug Description
I think we ought to have a FUSE module for mounting PTP, MTP and others so we can view these in the browser rather than having software to transfer our files. (eg gphoto).

Isn't that what mtpfs does? I had it somewhat working on Jaunty with a notoriously uncooperative Philips Gogear 1630 (it's a bit of a pain but hey, it was only $30...) Actually I was somewhat happy to notice that with the update to libmtp 0.3.7 in Karmic, and some other sort of magic that I don't understand, my MTP device now automounts smoothly in just a few seconds (it used to take over a minute, and I had to disable the automount introduced in Jaunty) and shows up as a file system in Nautilus - so cheers to whoever figured that out!
It's not quite perfect, unfortunately: while I was able to copy files with ease, the mp3 player didn't detect the files as music tracks; perhaps the metadata was missing? So long story short, I still have to add music using Rhythmbox or Amarok 1.4, but there's no problem moving files back and forth in Nautilus - and my device is *really* problematic!
