The new version of fuse-zip seems to require libzip version 0.11.2 which is not yet available in Trusty Tahir (14.04) release.

The new version of libzip is available in Utopic (14.10):
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libzip

So, an update to fuse-zip can be planned in the 14.10 cycle.
