Bug Description

Boot to recovery mode, drop to root shell.

Asked for root password (seemingly actually requiring non-existent root password)

Get sulogin: crypt failed : invalid argument

Install not encrypted.

Going to assume this is a 'dev install kicking around for a while' thing. Unable to reproduce elsewhere.
