Bug Description

Using the "Free Translation" engine (I couldn't get Babelfish to give me a response), put "Hello" in the To-be-translated text field. Set From: to English and To: Russian. On the freetranslation site, it displays "Привет" as the response, but freespeak shows it as "оПХБЕР". I believe it's a unicode or character encoding issue, but I unfortunately don't know python, so I'm pretty much stuck after this.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

Yes, unfortunately. I'm having the same problem with Feisty's current version, 0.1.1. The exact same results as in the previous comments, with Altavista not responding and Free Translation returning "оПХБЕР".
