xfreerdp stops responding to keyboard input for no apparent reason

Bug Description

For no apparent reason, xfreerdp stops responding to keyboard input but does still respond to mouse clicks and gestures. The workaround is to close the xfreerdp window and reconnect to the server as the same user. Upon reconnecting, everything works as expected (until keyboard is lost again). This happens to me several times a day when connecting from Ubuntu Lucid 32-bit to Windows 7 Professional

To provide some context for the bugsquad:

FreeRDP rewrote a significant portion of their code between FreeRDP .0.8.2 (in this Lucid bug) & FreeRDP 1.0.1 (in Precise), as explained in this link:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=27782543
I've never encountered this issue on FreeRDP 0.8.2 or 1.0.1, but this change to FreeRDP means the bug was very likely to have been fixed.

Danny,

Since you downloaded FreeRDP directly from the upstream FreeRDP project themselves, you need to file any possible bugs with in their bug tracker here:
https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/issues?state=closed

As some personal advice, it sounds like you forgot to install the CentOS package libxkbfile-devel before compiling. You should follow the rest of the instructions for your "rhel based" distro here:
https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/wiki/Compilation
Then if you still have an issue, file a bug with upstream or request help through other means such as the FreeRDP mailing list.

I realise this is an old bug, hopefully this is of help:

I run Xfreerdp on Ubuntu Gnome, X64, 15.10. I use xfreerdp to maintain a rdp session to a Windows 10 machine, primarily in full screen mode.

Several times per day my keyboard becomes unresponsive, and/or the mouse does not work or does only work on some parts of the screen. This is why I think this might be the same bug.

When this happens I find that Ubuntu has generated a notification message on the ubuntu desktop: Updates available, and mail notifications mostly. It seems as if the focus is lost and can't be regained anymore. I do see the terminal from where the rdp session was started react to keyboard input though.

Most often CTRL+Enter does not work anymore when this happens, but if it does it is enough to regain the focus. Otherwise CTRL+C will end the session, and that mostly works.

Confirmed, still happens on Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 too (using xfreerdp 2.0.0-dev)
