Bug Description

Binary package hint: freeplayer

Ubuntu release : 8.10
freeplayer package version : 20070531+dfsg.1-1

What I expected to happen :
opening of the vlc player with options needed for the freeplayer

What happened :
When launching vlc-fbx, it crashes with the following output :

VLC initialization failed

Solution :
The "--http-charset" and "--wx-systray" options should be removed from the /usr/bin/vlc-fbx script.

I don't agree with solution, removing "--http-charset" and "--wx-systray" work to luanch VLC but don't stream content.

I am using Intrepid and I have the same trouble :
VLC initialization failed. . .
It was working with Hardy, it's a regression.
Could you fix it please ?
Thanks

With vlc 1.0.2 goldeneye (Jaunty), the proposed solution (remove --wx-systray....) works for me (and videos are streamed correctly)
