digests are not available with fmtree

fmtree -K sha256digest
fmtree: line 0: unknown keyword sha256digest

the man page says under examples the exact command above.. Turns out none of the digests appear to be available.
according to the manpage:
     md5digest The MD5 message digest of the file.

     sha1digest The FIPS 160-1 (“SHA-1”) message digest of the file.

     sha256digest
                 The FIPS 180-2 (“SHA-256”) message digest of the file.

     ripemd160digest
                 The RIPEMD160 message digest of the file.

all of them give an error.
the keyword cksum works!
