Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
Clicking for instance "Debug->Watches" in the IDE produces the error "No debugger
support available"

Based on the discussion in the Debian bug, debug support was disabled because newer versions of gdb were incompatible with fpc.

This issue is reproducible with fpc version 2.6.0-7 in Ubuntu Raring, and seems to have been present since 7.04

I have good news: as mentioned in the Debian bug report, this issue is fixed in fpc 3.0.4+dfsg-14 which will be part of the upcoming Ubuntu 18.04. While I don't have any Pascal code lying around, I have been able to verify that I no longer get an error message and features like "Watches" seem to work. I'm therefore marking this as fix released.

The Debian bug report contains some more details on the fix itself. It might be possible to patch this into previous versions of Ubuntu, so if this is something you'd like, please take a look at the SRU Procedure (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure).
