Bug Description
Binary package hint: fontforge
The fontforge package is not compiled with Type3 font support. This can be confirmed by opening a font (or creating a new one), and selecting Element→Font Info→Layers, where the option "Type3 Multi Layered Font" is not visible.
debian/rules passes --with-type3 to the configure script, but it seems like --enable-type3 is the correct option. Changing that to --enable-type3 gives a package with Type3 support. (According to debian/changelog, it has been like that since February 2009. It seems like I'm the only one who has tried to use this feature ☺)
