Bug Description

Hi, I find ubuntu fonts (bytecode interpreter activated) to be worse than otjer
distros (autohinter). Fonts look smudged and too thin.

I believe there should be a font wizard, or some other a discoverable way to
enable the autohinter. The current way (dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig) is not
discoverable.

In #14310 the conclusion seems to be that enabling autohinting by default is not a good idea. So adding a configuration option might be a good solution.

I think the best way to do it locally is adding an `Enable auto-hinting' checkbox to gnome-font-properties, which modifies ~/.fonts.conf. A faster way to implement it is adding a `Configure system font settings' button to gnome-font-properties, which runs this command:
gksu "dpkg-reconfigure -fgnome fontconfig-config"
