Bug Description
Notifications (the informational pop up kind like "low battery" or "no network detected") don't seem to be clearing out of the system tray in the Fluxbox toolbar. Well, the notification clears, but the whitespace remains. Gradually the system tray expands to eat up my entire toolbar and I have to restart Fluxbox.
I've attached a screenshot so you can see what I mean. (My fluxbox toolbar is at the top; if I hover over the "blank" areas I do still get an informational tooltip from the notification that was there.)
I've googled and found what seem like other mentions of the same problem:

http://
But no solutions or bug reports, so here goes.
Steps to recreate (?)
- In fluxbox window manager get some pop up notifications.
- click on them to clear them
- watch system tray slowly fill up with empty space
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using
fs@eeegor:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10
Note: I've been having this problem since 11.4 -- it persists in 11.10
2) The version of the package you are using
fs@eeegor:~$ apt-cache policy fluxbox
fluxbox:
Installed: 1.3.1~dfsg1-2
Candidate: 1.3.1~dfsg1-2
Version table:
*** 1.3.1~dfsg1-2 0
500 http://
100 /var/lib/
3) I expect when a pop up notification clears, the space allocated to it in the system tray is freed up.
4) What happens is the system tray is filling up with white space from old notifications.
ACK'd - Thanks for the report.
Have a fantastic day (and thanks for using Fluxbox!)
