Bug Description

The GitKraken or any other flatpak doesn't display the icon on top of the window in the task switcher like other applications. I have attached a screenshot. It's the same for the bottom task bar too.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

After installing flatpak, did you restart your session or computer ?

Also could you provide the output of the following command

$ env | grep XDG_DATA_DIRS

Furthermore it looks like there isn't any screenshot attached ?

Changed in flatpak (Ubuntu):

Thanks for the response. Yes, I did restart my computer and I consistently see this behavior with any flatpak applications.

Here is the output of the command.

And I have attached the screenshot of the switcher.

Tested on Groovy. I can confirm reported issue albeit not for _all_ flatpaks.

I tested GitKraken, FreeTube, Warpinator and Agenda flatpaks. Of them, FreeTube showed icon properly both in task switcher and window list (bottom bar) but other three did _not_.

Observed same issue on LinuxMint MATE as well. Haven't confirmed on other DE than MATE or non-Ubuntu distro.
