Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This bug has been reported for flatpak 0.6.X and Ubuntu 16.10 (both of which are unsupported and out of date), I have tried running a similar command to what the crash shows was executed (flatpak install flathub org.gnome.Platform 3.26), and this worked fine with flatpak 0.8.X on Ubuntu 17.10.

The original issue looks like it might have been a bug in ostree, but has hopefully now been resolved. However if it still occurs please try opening a bug upstream, for ostree https://github.com/ostreedev/ostree/issues or for flatpak https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues

Therefore, for the reasons stated above, I am marking this bug as incomplete.
