Hi, I experienced the same on Natty 64 bit and on Maverick 64 bit systems.
Reinstalling flashplugin-installer package using Synaptic package manager solved the problem on Natty.
(I do not have access to my Maverick PC, I will try this solution on Monday.)

Trying to do so gives the following synaptic message;

Download done.
Flash Plugin installed.
nspluginwrapper: no appropriate viewer found for /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so
dpkg: error processing flashplugin-installer (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 flashplugin-installer

OK using Flashaid plugin on firefox solved this for me. case closed.
