while trying to watch bbc4 live from bbc iplayer, in comparison to within maverick(which played back smoothly), it played back very stuttery, to the point of being unwatchable.

Hmm, probably best if this bug report be looked at as a flash issue first, before examining it as a driver bug. For me flash video has been working ok, well no worse than it usually is.
