when i updated ubuntu the flashplugin-nonfree has hung up my package manager and i cannot install or uninstall anything!

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

i have a error message that reads: an error has occured, please run package manager from the right click menu or apt-get in a terminal to see what is wrong. the error message was: Unknown Error:'<type'exceptions.systemError'>' (E:The package flashplugin-nonfree needs to be reinstalled, but i cant find an archive for it,)' this usually means that your installed packages have unmet dependencies
no matter what i do i cannot uninstall this plugin or reinstall it or any other program or update either! it also crashes firefox
