Bug Description

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

Now that I have reported two trivial errors involving the adobe flashplayer and the adobe flashplayer plugin for Firefox I have received and error message that says "Could not install the upgrades The installation is now aborted. Your system could be in an unusable state. A recovery will run now (dpkg --configure -a).

After 5 1/2 hours of baby sitting the "automated" upgrade process from Ubuntu 8.04 LTS to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS the process is aborting and running recovery over a trivial piece of non-essential add-on software readily available from it's distributor. This is unacceptable in what should be the stable long term production level software. Distinguishing between essential to operate and trivial add-on is not that tough. If it isn't yours and was added after your O/S was installed it is trivial. Tell the user they will need to go get it and install it manually.
