Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

Update-Manager-suggested flashplugin-installer upgrade failed. As far as I know, my flash installation is completely vanilla.

I encountered the same problem. Closer analysis revealed

$ sudo nspluginwrapper -v -v -i /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so
.: 4: Can't open /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/noarch/npview
nspluginwrapper: no appropriate viewer found for /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so

which could be fixed by running

$ sudo aptitude reinstall nspluginwrapper
