(1) You're using flashplugin-nonfree?
(2) You're using GNOME?
(3) What type of sound card do you have? (check with 'lspci | grep audio' without the quotes)
(4) What is the output of 'mozilla-firefox -V' without the quotes?

(2) Yes
(3) 0000:00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)
(4) when it's not crashed:
FIREFOX_DSP=aoss
APPLICATION_ID=firefox
CMDLINE_DISPLAY=
DISPLAY=:0.0
OPTIONS=
DEBUG=0
DEBUGGER=
Running: aoss /usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin -a firefox

I had to go through some steps to make the sound from flash to work. That may have caused the bug. The HOWTO I followed is located here:

WAIT! (1) was incorrect. I belive I used the Flash Player Plugin that installs from within firefox, NOT the player that is listed in Synaptic.

I can't duplicate that here. When I try to install from the firefox plugin finder, the install fails. Can you install flashplugin-nonfree and see if you still get this crash?

I uninstalled the firefox plugin with the intructions from adobe, and then installed the synaptic plugin. The bug still occurs. The freeze seems to be random. This is a freeze, not a crash. I have to do a force quit. Regardless to whether flash is causing the problem, it shouldn't be allowed to take firefox down with it.
