Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Which Ubuntu version do you use? Which playback program do you use? Which codecs does the problematic videos have? Can you reproduce it with one video file or is it random? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the report, Which type of file is the one you're trying to see, avi, mpeg, etc? Do you get the same results if you see the video with: gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/video ? thanks.

avi, mkv, flv, mp4, dvd, ogg and what is it : "gst-launch-0.10" i searched for that in repositories and i didnt find anything.

Onkar Shinde (onkarshinde) wrote :

@manzur,

gst-launch-0.10 is a command provided by gstreamer. You will have to type 'gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/video' in terminal.

i think it has something to do with web browser, becouse when firefox is opened sometimes i cant hear video audio and when i close my browser and open a video file i can watch and hear its audio, so i give you this clue!

please ubuntu team, HELP!!!!, I cant satnd it anymore, I dont know if this is becouse compiz fusion, or it is about a lib that i have not installed, or it is about a driver, or a bad configuration, i dont know why, but this is driving me crazy, since the first time i am using ubuntu, i have allways got this problem, and it is that i cant play a video, i am not saying that i have never watch a video, but almost always i cant hear its audio or totem crashes, video goes in slow motion!! please fix it, this is one of my BIGGEST problems in ubuntu.
