Bug Description

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

I have a Dell XPS M1710 laptop running pure up-to-date Ubuntu Hardy 32-bit. When libflashsupport is installed, viewing videos on YouTube frequently crashes Firefox just as the video is loading. Navigating from one video to another via the list on the right will very quickly repro this bug. When libflashsupport is NOT installed this bug does NOT occur. The crash is a segmentation fault, but for some reason there is no crash file for me in /var/crash and apport does not get triggered. Instead I am attaching the output from a gdb session, which contains a full backtrace.

This is probably the same as bugs 207228, 238838, and more, but I see from the comments on those that we're not supposed to confirm other people's crash bugs.

An alternate work-around if you still want to output sound through Pulse is to install the Flash Player 10 beta as described at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5150877 and then configure your .asoundrc as describe at http://wvarner.blogspot.com/2008/05/firefox-crashing-on-youtube-in-ubuntu.html

I think this is a duplicate of #192888

Use firefox with flashplugin-nonfree WITHOUT libflashssupport. You can watch more than 100 Dailymotion's videos without any crash.
Install libflashsupport : Firefox will crash between 2 and 15 videos.
Uninstall libflashsupport : evrything is ok.
