Thank you Spectre for your report,

I can confirm it in gutsy too, either using the gnash plugin and the flashplugin-nonfree plugin.

Incidentally I've got the chance to test that page in a remote m$-windows machine running firefox and there the menus are shown as expected.

Changed in firefox:
assignee: nobody → mozilla-bugs
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed
description: updated

Have you got the path/link to the problematic flash file ?

Anyway, it is not a firefox problem but a flash problem

I am running into problems with adobe flash not displaying correctly:
menu items are hiddle behind flash advertisements, and pages completely nonnavigable (is that a word?)
non navigational? nonnavicable? ... whatever :)
cardplayer.com has problems with hidden menus
www.toyota.com is completely shot
www.toyotafinancial.com is gone
I'm using i386 Ubuntu 7.10 updated 11.14.2007, the flash plugin for firefox, and java6.
The thought of using win2k again scares and frightens me very badly.

I can confirm this for Adobe Flash *and* Gnash, so I'm not sure it's a flash bug.

Instructions:
1. Install firefox and flashplugin-nonfree
2. Go to www.germanwings.com
3. Try to select an origin (left, in the flight search box)
Result: The popup is hidden by the flash advertisement

Same with epiphany/flash, firefox/gnash and epiphany gnash.

I know that firefox and epiphany have been called out earlier in this thread...
Opera and flashplugin-nonfree exhibit similar behavior.
flashplugin-nonfree: 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12
epiphany-browser: 2.20.1-0ubuntu1
firefox: 2.0.0.11+2nobinonly-0ubuntu0.7.10
opera: 9.24-20071015.6gutsy1

http://www.toyota.com (with will drive you absolutely crazy.)

A similar problem occurs with the latest version of Rhapsody Online: http://www.rhapsody.com. You'll see when you go to the site that the dropdown menus for both "My Music" and "How It Works" are occluded by the flash slider panel. This is a pretty good site I think, one which attracts users to Linux with it's subscription service. Having it not work there will scare away people from Linux I should think. Seems like a high priority to me.

Don't know if this is still on the work, but the behavior is still present with ff3 on Hardy. These pages look fine on konqi though.
