Bug Description
The current version of checkflac (in 18.10 LTS / Cosmic) is badly out-of-date:
* It cannot handle filenames with spaces (fairly common for ripped .flac files).
* It is hardwired to use /dev/hdc as the name of the CD drive.
* It does not report what the invalid Disc-ID _is_ making it hard to withdraw bogus data from various websites.
ALL of the above problems, and perhaps more, have been fixed upstream,
https:/
E.g., "checkflac: make script more resilient for filenames containing spaces or colons",
https:/
(which was done back in 2015). There have apparently been about six fixes since the
last release (2.0.4), which is apparently the version in Ubuntu:
346d0ad (HEAD -> master, origin/master, origin/HEAD) checkflac: make script more resilient for filenames containing spaces or colons
827399c discid: exit non-zero on error
cd14b51 Default to /dev/cdrom, allow override
264512e checkflac: exit non-zero on error or mismatch
6e81155 autotools: create uninstall-hook to remove symlinks to man pages
