Bug Description
Binary package hint: firmware-tools
firmware-tools currently installs GUI and non-GUI tools, so server users are forced to install graphical libraries even if they just want to use the non-GUI tools.
I'd suggest splitting the package into two separate binary packages, with one containing inventory_

This bug was fixed in the package firmware-tools - 2.1.10-0ubuntu2
---------------
firmware-tools (2.1.10-0ubuntu2) maverick; urgency=low
* Split firmware-tools into -common, -cli and -gui packages
so that server users don't need the whole graphical stack
to use firmware-tools (LP: #598030).
* debian/control: Add python-gnome2 as a dependency so that GUI app
actually works.
