Hi.
I've had this kind of errors in the past. I think it happens because of a
mixture of new and old versions. For example, if I install the en_US version
and I just copy the es_ES files in the chrome directory, you have this error.
Maybe update_chrome can help, but anyway, a totally fresh install should make
the trick. Purge the previous version, reinstall, move (not copy) your user
configuration to a new folder and try again.

Version: 0.10.1+1.0PR-4
Severity: grave
This is the only funny result after upgrading to the current sid
version:

After closing that window, it does not run.
Same resulting creating a new profile by -ProfileManager.
It allows creation of the new profile, then breaks with the same
error.

I do not see this error in the latest version 0.99+1.0RC1. Can you try
that version. Can you move your profile out of the way? Any extensions

Ok, well that doesn't make sense. I admit that that file shouldn't
really be a conffile, but all it does is put an extra user-agent
string into firefox. It should not affect anything, even if you don't
upgrade it. But the fact that it asked you whether to overwrite your
changes means you changed that file. What exactly did you put in that
file?

Mmmm that's really strange... that kind of stuff is not supposed to
happen, since you didn't modify the file...
And it's not supposed to have any behavioural consequence on firefox...

As for the original bug report, was firefox running during the first upgrade,
and if yes, was it running as root ?

Maybe yes, and it did continue to work 'til next reboot. It's a laptop.
I know by IRC someone else had the same problem... Maybe Teo Ts'o

Maybe yes, and it did continue to work 'til next reboot. It's a laptop.

Hi,
This may be a little OT, but I experienced problemswhen upgrading from
0.9.3 to 0.10.1+1.0PR-4. apt-get upgrade seemed to go fine. Migration
wizard cameup, opted for No migration, and then "Extensions disabled"
poped up. After that, mozilla-firefox process was alive for about a
couple of minutes but then segfaulted.
user@localhost:
Error: No running window found
auto selected locale: en-US
*** nsExtensionMana

close
*** loading the extensions datasource
*** loading the extensions datasource
*** loading the extensions datasource
*** loading the extensions datasource
......
.....same output till it segfaults..
.....
*** loading the extensions datasource
*** loading the extensions datasource
*** loading the extensions datasource
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
Segmentation fault
So I tried removing the package and reinstalling. I wasn't able to purge
as there were a couple of directories in extensions folder which
couldn't be deleted. Those were common with Mozilla Seamonkey. Finally,
after removing those extesions, I was able to install 0.10.1+1.0PR-4.
What I gather from this is that if an upgrade disables some
extension(and which is used by Seamonkey too), the next time you upgrade
there may be problems. This could be taken care of if user is prompted
to remove the extension in question and then reinstall it after it is
disabled.
Thanks.

PS: The main cause of problem is that one cannot purge Firefox(or
Mozilla) completely if they share an extension.

Very nice. After upgrading - and reboot - to current sid version I have
got again the same problem. I also tried wmaker and fluxbox to see
if it's a problem due to my wm, without changes. Truly amazing.
Is there a way to find where those javascript instructions are called?

Actually, the fact that the localization is not up-to-date is a quite
different problem which may or may not need a bug report, not more than
normal severity.
The breakage of firefox by the localization not being up-to-date is
another problem which belongs to firefox and which actually is the same
problem as #279140.
Anyways, this bug will be fixed by upload of version 0.99+1.0RC1-3
