Bug Description

It looks like it's possibly related to Bug #230627, but it's slightly different and that bug is quite old now.

Preferences --> Applications only has one PDF 'Content type' which is 'PDF document', and I have evince ('Document Viewer') set as the application.

I attach a screen shot of these Application preferences - file '2012_02_28 1 PDF preference.png'.

However, if for example I try to open a PDF document, it tries to use gedit, as shown in the attached screen shot - file '2012_02_28 2 Download PDF dialog box.png'.

I notice that both Preferences 'Content type' and download dialog box 'which is a:' use the words 'PDF document'. Neither of them use the words 'PDF file'.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner.

Is this still an issue using a currently supported version of Firefox and Ubuntu? Testing here with Firefox 70 and Ubuntu 18,04 appears to work correctly. Please let us know if you still see a problem otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.
