Bug Description

Often the awesome bar in firefox fails to offer suggestions at all in new tabs that I open. If I open a new window, it usually works there (for some time, but the same issue then affects that window after a while).

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=507269 suggests this has been known about before and fixed, but I'm not finding that to be the case.

Note I reported this as an older bug in bug 777251 but started this as a new bug since I'm now on Oneiric.

I'm also affected by this, I have the exact same symptoms as bug 777251. When I start typing something in the URL bar (awesome) no suggestions pop up. Also, when I right-click a contextual menu opens but if I try to move the pointer to it, it vanishes.

I've found that a workaround is to take focus away from the Firefox window and then go back; this re-enables the URL bar and makes context menus work again.

I haven't been able to come up with a way to reproduce the bug, but it happens often enough to be really annoying.

This is under Ubuntu 11.10 and Firefox 7.0.1.
