Firefox hangs when trying to use any dropdown or right-click menu

If I click on link with right mouse button
If I click on address bar with right mouse button
If I click on search bar with right mouse button
If I click with whatever mouse button on an icon that should make the dropdown menu appear

=> Dropdown menu doesn't appear, Firefox window turns to gray for ~15 seconds

Fresh and updated Ubuntu 11.10
Firefox 7.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu2

I have the same problem on Firefox 8 too.

It occurs only on one of my computers and only occasionally. Rebooting usually fixes the problem. The problem was more persistent on a live system, so it may happen because of low resources (I speaking of Intel Celeron E1400 @ 2.00GHz × 2 with 1GB RAM and GeForce 8600 GT/PCI/SSE2 or Intel 82945G/GZ).

The same bug is reported to occur in Firefox 8, 9 and 10 as well and on a different machine.

Happens very often, when I log one user off and then another user on.

same problem, whenever i try to use the right mouse button in firefox, or try to click left on the menu like file, firefox freezes.

I found the problem, however it was not directly a firefox problem. There was a problem with d-bus messages, which also slowed down many other applications. After removing .dbus, .pulse and .pulse-cookie directory from $HOME, the issue vansihed.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. This bug was reported some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Does anyone still see a problem related to the one that was reported when using currently supported versions of Firefox and Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.
