Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox 2.0.0.1 crashed without any special action on my part, I think.
I can't tell the exact circumstances, but here are some hints:
- this is an upgrade from 6.06, from 5.10, from ???, where the ~/.mozilla directory was
never deleted or newly set up
- I have had a couple of crashes since the upgrade to 6.10, at least once some time after (not immediately after, but say a minute later) some video was displayed with the embedded totem plug-in (but not this time)
- Just before the crash the CPU load goes to 100% for 2-3 secs

Version info:
Ubuntu 6.10
Firefox 2.0.0.1

There are still some un-retraced symbols because some dependences reported on the crash file seem no be part of edgy's default packages:

/lib/libnss_files-2.5.so
/lib/libpthread-2.5.so
/lib/libm-2.5.so
/lib/libnsl-2.5.so
/lib/ld-2.5.so
/lib/libutil-2.5.so
/lib/librt-2.5.so
/lib/libresolv-2.5.so
/lib/libnss_nis-2.5.so
/lib/libc-2.5.so
/lib/libdl-2.5.so
/lib/libnss_dns-2.5.so
/lib/libnss_compat-2.5.so

and some non standard extensions
