Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I had launched two separate Firefox windows. I was reading a web page news article and the browser became unresponsive. Played with task bar to minimize both windows because they appeared "dead". Restored one to normal size. It came up without redraw, stayed up for a little bit and then both windows died. Generated crash dump and I am attaching it.

Ubuntu: 6.10
Firefox 2.0.0.1

I still have the full 18 MB crash dump if the brief dump looks interesting but does not have enough information.

Can you please upload the full crash report. Your breif report is missing parts we need to extract the debugging symbols.

I actually got two dump files at the time of the crash. I do not know which one is associated with the mini dump I previously attached so I will attempt to add both, but the smaller one first.

And now for the bigger dump. This one has failed to load two times before....

I snapped a screen shot of my extensions. I have not changed them since the crash. I do not have any other themes than the Firefox default 2.0. I have the English (GB) 2.0 language pack which may be a mistake since I normally select US English for everything.

I wish I could answer what Flash package I have. I'm a little new and just can't figure out how to get the information. I downloaded from the standard Ubuntu link on 1/21 this year. At the moment, that link points to macromedia 9. I remember I did the tar.gz install and ran the install script. Must have deleted the installation package after that. I am attaching a picture of my plugins directory under /usr/lib/firefox.

I have Java as well.

Please give me more detailed instructions or a link on how to get the Flash information if required. Sadly, I can't even find the Flash application directory after about 20 minutes of looking.

Please enter about:plugins in the url location bar and hit
enter. There you will see more detailed plugin infos.

Further, please try if starting in safe mode helps:

 # firefox -safe-mode

If that helps, disable extension one by one until you find the bad
one.

Let us know.
