Bug Description

Browser was working. Performed a system update, informed I need to restart browser. Restart browser, but it crashes instead (or at least doesn't restart.) Start browser; all windows are filled with black whether full screen or not. Disabling visuals in compiz is no help. Had to install another browser to file this report.

I had the same problem.

Fixed by setting "layers.acceleration.force-enabled" to false in "prefs.js" which is located in the profile folder.

If you changed "layers.acceleration.force-enabled", then this isn't a bug. This is disabled because it doesn't work on all hardware, and you're pretty much on your own if you go to about:config, accept the warning and then change the value yourself (it's not exposed anywhere in the UI)

I didn't; I have nVidia. I don't have to force anything.

drink,

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Presumably this problem was a one time occurrence and/or is no longer an issue? Can this bug report now be closed?

If we do not hear from you the bug report will close itself in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
