Firefox Sync returns an "unknown error" message and fails to sync

Has been returning this error all day today, June 1, 2011
Additionally, typing into blank address bar on new tab fails to show suggestions based on history, tags or bookmarks.
Bookmarks gone.

Do not have the secondary problem

Same bug on oneiric. Sync will fail every day. And never on windows 7, identical Sync account.

Versions tested:
FF 7 from official repository
