Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Periodically the "awesome bar" in firefox refuses to do any kind of searching based on partial typing, so I have to type the entire URL of the site I want to visit. I haven't been able to come up with any pattern of when this happens, but it's probably about 20% working, 80% not working at the moment.

Today happened once to me after May 4 update for 11.04. After reboot it seems back to normal. There had been no failure I noticed recently before this update

Happens to me as well with firefox 4 on 11.04.

In addition to the awesomebar stopping to work, the tab menu (the right-most button on the tab bar) no longer works properly. When clicking it, the tab menu does open, but trying to move the mouse cursor downwards to select one of the tabs has the effect of immediately closing the tab menu, making it impossible to select a tab to jump to (using the tab menu, ctrl-pgup/pgdown still works).

Closing and restarting firefox helps, but the problem reappears sporadically within maybe an hour or so of using firefox.
