Hello.

Thank you for your bug report.

Can you please attach a crash log or a backtrace of the crash? If you don't know how to do this read this two wiki pages:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingFirefox

Cheers ;)

This happened to me. I've moved tabs before, so it doesn't happen all the time...

I was able to reproduce though... If you try to move the First tab (left-most tab) to a different place, you'll get a crash. If you try to move any other tab, even to be in first position (left-most), no crash. Very interesting.

Hopefully this crash dump will shed some light.

I believe the first crash was related to flash, what version do you have?

Michael, Could you please install the firefox-dbg package and try to obtain a backtrace (or crash report) by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem

i think we can retrace on our own or is the crash report not complete?

Sigh, I can't reproduce it now... I tried running firefox with gdb attached, same web sites... it wouldn't crash this time. Sorry. :(

If it happens again, I'll restart with gdb attached and select Restore Session and try to reproduce...

This could very well be flash related, could be anything-related. The sites I had open when switching tabs (wsj.com, investors.com, optionsxpress.com) have flash and java content, though it hadn't loaded any java applets at the time of the crash (I would know, the memory footprint gets HUGE when java loads and a java_vm subprocess is forked).

FWIW, flash version is 9.0 r31, java version is Sun 1.5.0+update10 packaged using java-package.
