Firefox-4.0 libvlcplugin.so: undefined symbol: NPP_Initialize

Binary package hint: firefox

After upgrade to 11.04 yesterday FF was running fine untill before an hour or so.
Because the launcher was static while running FF in fullscreen mode and left side on a webpage couldn't be viewed I closed FF.

Reproducable FF couldn't be restarted, Symbol in launcher blinks but no reaction.
Attempt via terminal failed:
/usr/lib/firefox-4.0/firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libvlcplugin.so: undefined symbol: NPP_Initialize
Attempt with 'firefox -safe-mode' failed with same output.
Reinstallation with up-to-date repo brought no success.

Workaround via root: rename libvlcplugin.so to libvlcplugin.so-disable
Result: FF starts again without complains.
