Dean ,
 The workaround that I have been mentioning is
  window.open("test.html", "popup", "width=300,height=300,dependent=1");
 Also the given example
 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=115195&action=view
 doesnt seem to work on Mozilla 1.7/1.8 on Linux and Solaris.
