Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I upgraded to 6.10 last night. Firefox Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0 (Ubuntu-edgy) crashes frequently, seems highly unstable and unreliable. I uninstalled and reinstalled with Synaptic, but still have the same problem. It may be related to the Flash plugin and seems to be web page content related (crashes on opening GarageBand and YouTube). In any case, this has been a good test of the Restore Session feature, which seems to be working great!

Thank you for reporting this bug. Can you please provide either a backtrace of firefox using the firefox-dbg package or attaching the /var/crash/ firefox report? Is this still currently happening with a fully up-to-date firefox?

Changed in firefox:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

Change the depth from 16bit to 24bit or start firefox with command:
XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 firefox

It's a duplicate of bug #14911
