I believe this could be a problem with GNOME/GTK itself. Did you happen to hit Enter quickly after saving the video file?

I had the same problem, I'm using 2.0+0dfsg-0ubuntu3.
After my click on the Save As-button,
 my CPU was working hard for 20 seconds, then FF crashed.
I can't reproduce it.

There seems to be a moderate number of reports with the same behaviour so unless someone thinks the opposite I'm going to merge those common reports.
