i received the same error after i added ant video downloader(add-on) and removed it again.
my distro is ubuntu 10.10

The error message should go away if you wait for a short moment. Are you able to restart FF , say about 30 secends after seeing the error message (you can see system control to see when the firefox process disappears)?
