Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. You seem to have 2 copies of the Adobe Flash Player installed, one in your profile and one in the system for everyone. Could you please try removing the one in your profile to see if this helps?

Micah: I went to the /home/bob/.mozilla/plugins file, found flashplayer.so and renamed it (I didn't remove it entirely). Restarted firefox, still no sound when trying youtube. I am new to this stuff, and am not sure exactly where to find all the above files, what they do exactly and how to modify them. Any help would be appreciated. The new Ubuntu 10.04 is nice, but all the previous versions worked fine with youtube. Thanks for trying to help out :) BB

Micah: you are correct. I checked the plugins for firefox, there were two versions of the flash player, the newer version, 10.0r45 works correctly, disabling the older version does it. Thanks for your help. bb

Also happens here. No sound on YouTube in Firefox and Chromium.

I only have flashplayer.so sytem-wide, not in my profile. What could the problem be?

I updated the flash player. Used 'apt-get', seems to work fine now.
The other audio stuff worked fine prior to (and after) the update.
Apparently you need the latest version of the flash player. Hope
this helps. bb
