Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.5
This affects all versions of firefox with profiles in /etc/apparmor.d on all versions of Ubuntu using apparmor to control firefox. On my machine that's firefox-3.5 and firefox-3.6 on:
Linux dell 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 16:20:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
After building gcc on my machine firefox couldn't run because it couldn't load /usr/local/
/usr/local/lib/** rm,
right after the same line for /usr/lib.

I think the behaviour you are describing is the correct behaviour; since firefox shouldn't normally be reading libraries from /usr/local/lib it shouldn't have permissions in apparmor to let it read it.
